Corner Bolted Gusset Plate Connection Macro Example

The below is the example as described in ProtaSteel Quick Start Guide :


  1. Pick Corner Bolted Gusset Plate Connection icon 
  2. Pick the column
  3. Pick the top brace
  4. Pick the stiffener (orange plate)

A corner bolted gusset plate connection will be created joining the top plate of the previous stiffened end plate connection.

If there is no boundary plate (i.e. Stiffened End Plate)Bolted Gusset Plate Connection Macro should be used.
  • Create the most appropriate View first before creating the connection. The same view & orientation will be used to produce the drawings. Click this topic for more details : Creating new Views
  • Press F9 on the joint to set the point of interest.  The view will then rotate about the point of interest.
