DXF Export

User can easily export drawing as DXF in "Drawing Module" by going to "Edit" top menu> Export > Export DXF



In DXF Export Dialogue, steps to export as below:
  1. Select export directory and enter file name.
  2. Adjust the settings such as scale, origin of Export and Text Width Factor. Besides, more option can be done in "DXF Export Settings" by pressing the "Settings" button.
  3. To export click on "Export" button and the drawing will be exported to the selected file path (stated in step 1).


DXF Export Settings 

Inside settings, it consists of two main tabs:
  1. Layers

    1. In this tab, user may adjust/modify the layers colour, name and line type by selecting the particular layers in the layer list.
    2. Once a layer was selected, it name will be highlighted in blue, and its "Individual Layer Settings" will be shown on right side. User can modify the selected layer based on their own preference.

  1. Export Style

    1. In this tab, user may adjust/modify drawing style:
      1. Draw Viewport boundaries - able to present all viewports with boundaries in DXF, otherwise untick this option viewport boundary will not be shown in exported DXF.
      2. Draw bolts as circles for top view - all bolts will be shown as circles, otherwise untick this option will present bolts as it was preset in ProtaSteel Drawing Module.
      3. Draw plate chamfers using arcs - chamfers uses on plate will be presented in arcs form, otherwise untick this option, chamfers will be presented in line form (segmented and non perfect curve).
      4. Create Blocks for each object - ProtaSteel automatically group lines from same members as block in DXF format drawing, otherwise untick this option to avoid grouping into blocks.
