Points, Construction Objects and Text

General

In the drawing module, the drafting icons can be used to drawing lines, shape or create text.

The "Points, Construction Objects and Text" toolbar are shown as below :


       

            



Please take note that these drafting tools will only be presented on drawing and will not show in modeling view or store any information to the model.

Line and Shape

Line and shape allows user to add details to the drawings such as the opening dash line, "to be continued" line, revision cloud and etc.
  1. If you wish to select a point where has no object snap, you can hold " left ALT" to select a free point.
  2. If you wish to draw it horizontally, please hold "left CTRL" before selecting the start point.
  3. If you wish to draw it vertically, please hold "left SHIFT" before selecting the start point.

Construction Line

To create a line:
  1. Select the Line icon.
  2. Select start point.
  3. Select end point.
  4. Right click to end. Continue to select more point to have continuous line, 

     

Construction ZigZag

To create ZigZag:
  1. Select the ZigZag icon.
  2. Select start point.
  3. Select end point.

Construction Polygon

To create construction Polygon:
  1. Select the Polygon icon.
  2. Select start point.
  3. Select end point.
  4. Continue to select more point to have continuous line, right click to end and it will automatically joint back to the first start point.

Construction Rectangle/Circle/Ellipse 

To create construction Rectangle/Circle/Ellipse:
  1. Select the Rectangle/Circle/Ellipse icon.
  2. Select start point. 
  3. Select end point.
    (For circle and Ellipse the start point will be at the center and the end point will be the radius.)

Construction Cloud

To create construction Cloud:
  1. Select the Rectangle/Circle/Ellipse icon.
  2. Select start point. 
  3. Continue to select more point to have continuous line, right click to end.

Text

Text allows user to add details to the drawings such as general note, extra annotation and additional description and etc.
If you wish to select a point where has no object snap, you can hold " left ALT" to select a free point.
If you wish to draw it horizontally, please hold "left CTRL" before selecting the start point.
If you wish to draw it vertically, please hold "left SHIFT" before selecting the start point.

Single Text

To create Single Text:
  1. Select the Single Text icon.
  2. Select start point. 
  3. Select end point. (this determines the "Text Rotation". You may edit later in the properties.)
  4. Go to properties, to edit the text.

Single Underlined Text 

To create Single Underline Text: (This is similar to Single Text but with underline.)
  1. Select the Single Underlined Text icon.
  2. Select start point. 
  3. Select end point. (this determines the "Text Rotation". You may edit later in the properties.)
  4. Go to properties, to edit the text.


Free Annotation 

To create Free Annotation:
  1. Select the member that which to be annotated. (This free annotation can be added to member already has a frame annotation.)
  2. Select the Free Annotation icon.
  3. Press "Enter" to access the properties to adjust the text style, size and text content.

Create Horizontal Text / Vertical Text

To create Horizontal/Vertical Text with arrow:
  1. Select the Horizontal Text / Vertical Text icon.
  2. Select start point. 
  3. Select end point. 
  4. Go to properties, to edit the text.
