End Plate Connection Macro Example

An End Plate Connection can be created between a beam & a beam or a beam and a column. Placing the mouse cursor over the End Plate Connection Macro will reveal the tool tip describing the scope and the steps of the macro. 


End Plate (Beam - Column)

  1. Pick End Plate connection icon under "Beam to Column Connection" section. 
  2. Pick the column
  3. Pick the beam
  4. Right-click. 
  5. The connection is created.
Info
Connection will be auto created without right-click if two beams are being selected at step (3)

End Plate (Beam - Beam)

  1. Pick End Plate connection icon under "Beam to Beam Connection" section. 
  2. Pick the Primary Beam
  3. Pick the Secondary Beam.
  4. Right-click.
  5. The connection is created.
Info
Connection will be auto created without right-click if two beams are being selected at step (3)


Notes
  1. Create the most appropriate View first before creating the connection. The same view & orientation will be used to produce the drawings. Click this topic for details: Creating Views.
  2. Press F9 on the joint to set the point of interest. The view will then rotate about the point of interest.
