Column Elevation Drawings

General

Column elevation can be drawn using "Column Elevation Drawings". Unlimited numbers of column elevation drawing can be generated with different display options on the same or different drawings.

Dialog is composed of 3 parts:
  1. Storeys : Select stories to be generated
  2. Detailing Options : Select the preferred options for each type of detail by highlighting them.
  3. Common Options : These setting can be found in all "Draw Details" dialogue. The common options allow to insert Sheet (Title block), quantity table, model info and adjust scale of drawing.

  1. "Details" treeview context menu > Column Elevation Drawings > Select storey> Right click > Draw 

    1. Drawing Column Elevations: Draw column elevations in group with additional setting using Draw Details Dialogue (ie. insert into sheet, add quantity table, etc)
    2. Draw Column Elevations (One by One): Draw column elevations one by one without additional setting
    3. Draw Column Schedules: Draw column schedule showing column schedule with rebars, dimension and etc.
  2. Second method is to right click on Column Elevation Drawings> Draw

  3. Alternatively uses Detail Drawing Manager > Column Elevation Drawings

Draw Details - Column Elevation

"Filter" Tab


  1. Filter: Check on the categories that you wish to show in the display list.
  2. Display Axis Label: If this option is checked, will allows the axis label to be shown in the display list.
  3. Display List: A list of the total columns sorted by storey ready to select and draw. Highlight multiple columns using "Ctrl" key or use "Select All" button to select all the columns.
  4. Select All: Select all of the columns in the display list at once.

"Options" Tab


  1. Draw Each Storey on a Separate File: This option will be active only when "Draw On Separate Files" is checked in "Detail Drawing Manager". This options allows the column elevation to draw on separate drawing files.
  2. Generate Column Through Storeys: When this option is checked, instead of single tier at single storey, columns through out the storey will be drawn.
    1. Draw similar columns together when drawing columns through storeys: When this option is checked, similar columns will be drawn once and labelled.
  3. Write Column Labels Below Sheets: Column label will be shown at bottom corner of sheet when this option is checked.
  4. Sort On Sheet By: Column elevation to be sort based on label or size.

Draw Details - Column Schedule

"Filter" Tab

The "Filter" tab is exactly the same as the "Filter" tab in "Draw Details - Column Elevation" Dialogue.

"Options" Tab


  1. Draw Column Insertion Axes: Show column axes lines on column section
    1. Dimension Column Insertion Axes: Show dimension between column section and column axes line.
    2. Write Axes Labels On Section: Show column axes with label on column section.
  2. Dimension Column Section: Show dimension of column section (includes "Dimension Column Insertion Axes").
  3. Center Column Labels and Texts in Cell: If this option is checked, the text alignment in table will be center aligned. Otherwise, left-aligned.
  4. Draw Separator Lines Between Label Texts: If this option is checked, separator lines will be created between labels at below the column section.
  5. Print Column Insertion Axis Labels: Show the axis intersection label at first row of the schedule table.
  6. Draw Column Vertical Separator Lines: Show vertical separator line in the schedule table.
  7. Draw Outline of Change in Column Size: Show outline of bottom column section when column size change between lower floor column and current floor column. 
  8. Print Column Labels Below the Table: Show column labels in table row below column sections in table.  
  9. Print Storey Labels Above the Column: Show the column storey label higher than the column section table row. If this option is unchecked, the storey label will be horizontally center to the same row of column section.
  10. Group Similar Columns: When this option is checked, similar column will be grouped together using one column section. The similar columns will be presented in column labels.
  11. Draw Bottom Section For Slanting Column: Show outline of bottom column section when the column is a slanting column. 
  12. Create Separate Tables for Columns and Shearwalls: To create separate tables for columns and shearwalls respectively.
  13. Show link Details: Show links detailing separately with details (ie. dimension and rebar size & nos) besides the column section.
  14. Similar Storey Note: Note to be shown in top storey when top storey column is similar to bottom storey column.
  15. Link Count: When option "Show link Details" is active, this option is not visible. This option will show the link number below the column label.
    1. Hide: Link number will be hidden.
    2. per floor: Link number will be showed per floor.
    3. per section: Link number will be showed per section.
