Storey Beam Elevation Drawings

General

Storey Beam elevation can be drawn using "Storey Beam Elevation Drawings". Unlimited numbers of beam elevation drawings can be generated with different display options on the same or different drawings.


Dialog is composed of 3 parts:
  1. Storeys : Select stories to be generated
  2. Detailing Options : Select the preferred options for each type of detail by highlighting them.
  3. Common Options : These setting can be found in all "Draw Details" dialogue. The common options allow to insert Sheet (Title block), quantity table, model info and adjust scale of drawing.

Navigation

  1. "Details" tree view context menu > Storey Beam Elevation Drawings > Select storey> Right click > Draw 
    1. Draw Beam Elevations: Draw Beam Elevations in group with additional setting using Draw Details Dialogue (ie. insert into sheet, add quantity table, etc) 
    2. Draw Beam Elevations (One by One): Draw Beam Elevations one by one without additional setting
  2. Second method is to right click on Storey Beam Elevation Drawings> Draw
  3. Alternatively uses Detail Drawing Manager > Storey Beam Elevation Drawings

Draw Details - Beam Elevation

"Filter" Tab


  1. Axes Section: All the axes are shown in this section. The beams which are showing in beams section will be based on axes selected here. 
  2. Beams Section: In this section, beams assigned on the selected axis will be displayed here.
User can decide which storey beams elevation drawings to be printed by selecting axes and beams in this "Filter" tab. Alternatively, click "Select All" to print out all the storey beam in the storey.

"Options" Tab


  1. Beam Detail Settings: This button is linked to the "Setting and Parameters" dialogue where users are allowed to edit the curtailment and detailing of storey beams. For more details of curtailment and detailing settings, please refer to Beam Design Settings: Curtailment.
  2. Insert Concrete Beam Schedule: By checking this option, concrete beam rebar schedule will be printed.
  3. Beam Axes Wider Than Sheet:  In this field, user can choose how to automatically truncate the long beam elevations to fit in any sheet border. The option available here are:
    1. Don't Truncate
    2. Truncate from Sheet Border
    3. Truncate The Closest Axes from Sheet Border

  1. Repeat Previous Span in Cropped Piece: Previous span after truncating will be printed again in the next beam elevation (refer to the figure below). This option only will be available when "Truncate The Closest Axes From Sheet Border" is selected.

  2. Min. Truncation Width: The number input in this field will be the minimum width of truncation. The beam elevation drawings will be truncated if only the length of the beam is exceeding minimum truncation width. 
  3. Distance to Sheet Edge: User can input value for distance to sheet edge in this field based on their preference.
  4. Horizontal/ Vertical Spacing Between Elevations: In this field, user can input desired value for horizontal and vertical spacing between elevations.
  5. Number of Beam Elevations per Insertion Row: The number inputted in this field will define the amount of beam elevations in one row.
